Around the world, English-medium Instruction is a fast-growing phenomenon, and research on it is burgeoning. Even though EMI involves academics in multiple disciplines, the EMI research field is dominated by researchers with an applied linguistics background (Macaro & Aizawa, 2022). Organised by the ICLHE Association Italy regional group together with the BALEAP EMI SIG, this webinar puts the spotlight on EMI in the disciplines, with the aim of widening the conversation about EMI to include content teachers and a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
We welcome Beatrice Zuaro (Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use (CIP), University of Copenhagen) for a presentation on disciplinary literacy in EMI and three EMI content teachers, Chiara D’Angelo (Psychology, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore), Vedran Katavić (Medicine, University of Zagreb) and Danica Piper (College of Communication and Media Sciences, Zayed University) for a round table discussion.
The webinar will allow time for audience participation and questions.
